Peskov says anti-coronavirus vaccination still voluntary in Russia

MOSCOW, Jun 24 (PRIME) -- Anti-coronavirus vaccination remains voluntary in Russia, and people who are unwilling to get vaccinated have the right to change their jobs, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday.

“Generally, vaccination remains voluntary indeed… if Muscovites work in the services sphere, they must get vaccinated, but if they decide not to get vaccinated, they should stop providing services. If they do not want it, they should find another job that is not connected to the spheres where vaccination is necessary,” he said.

Peskov added that the steps on obligatory vaccination of some workers are linked to the current epidemiological situation.

The government’s emergency operations center constantly monitors and coordinates Russian regions’ fight against the disease, he also said.
